The Washington DC Metro Black Alumni Council invites you to join us for a few hours of networking with other alumni.

Come join us at Hard Times Cafe on Thursday, March 13th at 5:00 pm. Let's get together to reminisce on the good (and bad)times we had at ODU and discuss the happenings now.

So come out to Hard Times Cafe in Old Town to share some of those funny stories of the past. Share a drink and do some networking with your fellow alumni.

DC Roundup
Thursday, December 13, 2007
5:00 PM
Buffalo Billiards
1330 19th St., NW, Washington, DC 20036

This was the first round-up for the new DC Reps to the BAC board!  It was held at Buffalo Billiards in the DuPont Circle area. Fifteen alumni from the classes of 1985-2007 were represented. Also in attendance were President Maxine Somerville and Vice President Jarvis Jackson.

Even though the weather was rainy and cold we had a warm spirited good time. We shared some of our favorite stories of living on campus or attending those Webb Center parties. The alumni are very excited about future events.

Our next round-up will be held at Mango Mikes in Virginia sometime in March. We are looking forward to keeping the Monarch spirit alive in the DC area!

BAC Roundup June 23, 2007
Carrabba's Restaurant
Virginia Beach, VA

Thirty-seven alumni from classes 1982 - 2007 met at Carrabba's Restaurant in Virginia Beach, Va on Saturday June 23, 2007.

Our thanks to Carraba's for sponsoring the get-together.  And it worked for them!  Several alumni mentioned that they had never been to Carrabba's before, but would be back.

BAC board members present were Kevin Gates, Cheryl Morrow, and Tyrone S. Goodwyn.  We wished Kevin and Cheryl well, as their BAC board tenure ends this month.  [Kevin, to become a member of the Old Dominion University Alumni Association board]

Incoming BAC Board members Henri LeJacques Parks and Jodi Slaughter attended in their first offical capacity!

Shewling Moy Wong, incoming president of the Old Dominion University Alumni Association, welcomed the Black alumni and pointed out her board members -- Henri Parks and Tyrone S. Goodwyn.  [Later that day, Mr. Goodwyn was elected Vice-President of the Old Dominion University Alumni Association]

And Alonzo Brandon, Vice-President for Development and Alumni Affairs (and BAC member) gave us a thumbnail sketch of the many areas in which our university is growing.

The alumni expressed general satisfaction with the event.  The board looks forward to our next roundup in the Fall!

This was the fourth Richmond Roundup!  Richmond-area Black alumni are energetic and strong.
